The reaction received by the Lore By Night podcast team upon hearing what I did with 'The Golden Review' was amazing, encouraging me to have more sax in another cue, to push for that more sexy/seductive sound for an interview cue.

And thus 'Blue Blood Blues' was born...or should I say embraced, sticking with the vampire theme. For those confused by the triple alliteration (a personal record at the time of typing), Blue Bloods are a nickname given to vampires of the Ventrue Clan.

As the title would imply, this cue follows a standard 12-Bar Blues progression, in addition to some more traditional jazz harmonies. With this, I was able to dig into my jazz roots to use more complicated harmonies and rhythms I had shied away from previously in the main soundtrack. It was one of the more enjoyable ones to compose and perform, as I imagined two Elder vampires discussing 'business' in a club or a large lounge in one of their havens/homes, which I believe makes it a fantastic mood-setter for interviews.
