about

In 'Vampire: The Masquerade', the generally accepted theory about the origin of vampires is that they all come from Caine, the same one who killed his brother, Abel, in the Bible (Genesis, Chapter 4).

This rule has only applied to all vampires outside of Asia. Those in Asia refer to themselves as the Kuei-Jin, who karmically cursed outcasts dwelling on the Middle Kingdom's fringes. They are the Kindred of The East (Kindred being the World of Darkness name for vampire)

As such, this particular cue needed to hint at the sound of Asia, but not straying too far from the rest of the gothic and Jazz harmonies, which can mostly be heard in the synth pad that sits gently beneath the Taiko drums and flute melody, which uses notes mainly in the pentatonic scale, five-note scales that are commonly used in Chinese music.
