about

The cult-classic PC games, 'Vampire: The Masquerade - Redemption' & 'Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines' adopt very similar, gritty rock sounds in their soundtracks, which have helped to establish what I would call the accepted 'Vampire: The Masquerade' 'sound'.

Whilst these have been very effective in reflecting the personal horror that is coming to terms with being a vampire in such projects, I thought there were more ways of exploring such horror and sense of dread, both the vampires, and the humans around them. After all, many of the vampires that would have existed in the world would have lived 1000s of years, and they could wield powers beyond imagination.

It was this particular mindset that inspired me to compose the theme of the podcast in this particular fashion. I felt a gothic orchestral approach was needed, one that becomes more sinister as the piece progresses.

In short, I have tried to present the World of Darkness from a different perspective.
