about

Shortly after the Playing With Diceself podcast was announced, The Lore By Night Podcast Guy was reached out by a game developer friend/acquaintance of his who asked him whether he was interested in showcasing some of their solo tabletop games, to which he agreed. Now he needed some music for the occasion, and similar sponsorships in the future.

This cue had very little direction, other than to keep with the minimal vibes of most of the other tunes here. A lot of songwriters/composers find the influence of their creations in love, happiness, the natural world or failed relationships, regret and heartbreak. With me, it is a lot more personal, as I look inward and stare at the black dog. It was one of these moments that this tune came to be, with irregular timings, and out-of-tune instruments that are neither Ab nor A. It was meant to look inward at one's own saddened solitude.
